🔹 WHO NEEDS TO REGISTER?
✅ Principal Employer
Must register if engaging 10 or more contract workers on any day in the previous 12 months.

Applicable to establishments like factories, offices, construction sites, etc.

✅ Contractor
Must obtain a Contractor Labour License if employing 10 or more contract laborers.

Needs a Form V certificate from the principal employer to apply for the license.

📝 REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR PRINCIPAL EMPLOYER
1. Visit the State Labour Department Portal
Example: Maharashtra – mahaonline.gov.in, Delhi – labour.delhi.gov.in

2. Create an Account / Login
3. Fill Application for Registration
Usually Form I under the Contract Labour Act

4. Upload Required Documents
PAN, address proof, incorporation certificate

Proof of work order

List of contractors and workers

5. Pay Government Fee
Varies by the number of workers (usually ₹100–₹2000)

6. Submit Application
After submission, a registration certificate is issued (online or offline depending on the state)

📄 REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR CONTRACTORS
1. Obtain Form V from the Principal Employer
2. Visit State Labour Portal
3. Fill Form IV (License Application)
4. Upload Documents
PAN, Aadhaar, firm registration

Form V, work order, worker details

EPF & ESIC registrations (if applicable)

5. Pay Fee + Security Deposit
Fee based on worker count

Security deposit: ₹500 per worker

6. Receive License
License is valid for 1 year; must be renewed annually.
