ESIC Employer Registration – Online Process
Who needs it?
Any business or establishment with 10 or more employees (20 in some states), where employees earn ₹21,000/month or less (₹25,000 for disabled employees), must register under the Employees’ State Insurance (ESI) Scheme.
✅ Step-by-Step Guide to Register an Employer on ESIC Portal
🔹 Step 1: Visit the ESIC Portal
Go to:

🔹 Step 2: Click on “Employer Login”
Found on the top menu of the homepage

🔹 Step 3: Click on “Sign Up” (First-time Registration)
Enter:
Employer Name
Company/Establishment Name
Mobile Number
Email ID
📧 You’ll receive login credentials (username & password) by email.
🔹 Step 4: Log In and Start New Employer Registration
Use your credentials to log in and click on:
✅ “New Employer Registration”
🔹 Step 5: Fill ESIC Form-1 (Online Application Form)
You’ll need to provide:
Establishment Name, Address, Type of Business
Date of Establishment
PAN (Company & Owner)
Nature of Work
Number of Employees & Salary Details
Bank Details (Name, Account Number, IFSC)
Details of branches (if any)
🔹 Step 6: Upload Required Documents
Upload scanned PDFs of the following:
Document Purpose
PAN (Company & Owner) Identification
Address Proof Utility bill, Rent Agreement, etc.
Cancelled Cheque For bank verification
Shops & Establishment License / Factory License Business registration
List of Employees Names, salaries, Aadhaar, joining dates
🔹 Step 7: Submit the Application
Once completed and verified, submit the registration
You’ll get an auto-generated 17-digit ESIC Registration Number
🎯 Post-Registration Obligations
Register each employee on the ESIC portal
Generate PeHchan Cards (ESIC ID cards)
Pay monthly contributions:
Employer: 3.25%
Employee: 0.75%
File regular ESI returns
