EPFO employer registration

To register as an employer under the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF) scheme in India, you must complete the Online Registration of Establishments (OLRE) process through the official Shram Suvidha Portal.

📝 Steps to Complete EPF Employer Registration
Sign Up on the Portal

Visit the portal and click on “Sign Up”.

Provide your name, email address, mobile number, and a verification code.

Click “Sign Up” to create your account.

Login and Start Registration

After signing up, log in using your credentials.

Navigate to “Registration for EPFO-ESIC” and click on “Apply for New Registration”.

Select “Employees’ Provident Fund and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952” and click “Submit”.

Fill in the Registration Form

Complete the online form with details such as:

Establishment name and address

Employer’s PAN

Number of employees

Date of establishment

Contact details

Bank account details

Upload required documents (e.g., PAN card, address proof, bank details).

Attach Digital Signature Certificate (DSC)

Register your DSC on the portal.

Ensure the DSC is in the name of the employer.

Upload the DSC to authenticate your application.

Submit the Application

Review all entered details.

Click “Submit” to complete the registration.

You will receive a provisional EPF code number upon successful submission.

Document Description
PAN Card Mandatory for all types of business entities
Address Proof Utility bill, rent agreement, or ownership deed
Certificate of Incorporation For companies; partnership deed for partnerships
Bank Account Details Cancelled cheque or bank statement
Digital Signature Certificate Class 2 or 3 DSC of the authorized signatory
Employee Details Name, salary, date of joining, designation, etc.

🔐 Post-Registration Actions
Activate Employer Portal: Use your EPF code to activate your employer account on the EPFO portal.

Register Employees: Assign Universal Account Numbers (UANs) to employees.

File Monthly Returns: Use the Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR) facility to remit contributions.
