✅ GST Registration in Mumbai: Online Process (2025)
🌐 Step 1: Go to the GST Portal
Visit https://www.gst.gov.in
📝 Step 2: Click on “Register Now”
Under the ‘Taxpayers’ section, click ‘Register Now’
Select ‘New Registration’
🔒 Step 3: Fill Part A of Form GST REG-01
You will need to provide:
Type of taxpayer: e.g., Regular, Composition, etc.
State: Maharashtra
District: Your Mumbai region (e.g., Mumbai Suburban, Mumbai City)
Legal name of the business (as per PAN)
PAN of the business
Email ID and Mobile Number (for OTP verification)
✅ You’ll receive a Temporary Reference Number (TRN) after submission.
🔑 Step 4: Log in Using TRN
Return to the GST portal
Select “Register” → Choose “Temporary Reference Number”
Enter TRN + OTP sent to your email/mobile
📥 Step 5: Fill Part B of GST REG-01
Enter and upload:
Section Details Required
Business Details Trade name, constitution (proprietor, company, etc.), place of business
Promoter/Partners PAN, Aadhaar, photo, contact details
Authorized Signatory Can be the owner or another person
Principal Place of Business Address proof (rent agreement, NOC, electricity bill, etc.)
Additional Places If you have more than one business location
Goods/Services Details of what you sell or provide
Bank Account Cancelled cheque / passbook / bank statement
Documents Upload PAN, address proof, photos, business registration doc, etc.
📧 Step 6: Aadhaar Authentication
After submitting the application, complete Aadhaar-based e-verification
You’ll receive a link via SMS/email to authenticate with OTP
⌛ Step 7: Wait for Processing
If all is okay, GST officer will issue GSTIN within 3–7 working days
If there are issues, they may ask for clarification (via Form GST REG-03)
Respond within 7 days using Form GST REG-04.
📄 Step 8: Download GST Certificate
Once approved:
Login to GST Portal
Go to ‘Services → User Services → View/Download Certificate’
You'll find your GST Registration Certificate (Form GST REG-06)

Ensure your principal place of business is within Mumbai and documents (rent agreement, utility bill) match the address.
